Beef Curry Tonight!

After getting my new Thermomix (TMX) Indian Cooking Cookbook the other week I decided to finally make a beef curry for Teneal.

So tonight we had Beef & Mushroom Curry. Sauce & spices made in the TMX, beef cooked in the frypan then sauce added to simmer for 5 minutes before being baked slowly in the oven for just over 2 hours!

Served with basmati rice (also made in the TMX) and for Teneal topped with sliced banana!!!

It was quite spicy so Teneal loved it, Keenan liked it and Heath hated it!

Frances & Matt's wedding cake...

Over the past few weeks I have been busy preparing and decorating Frances & Matt's wedding cake with a few hurdles along the way..... but finally everything turned out spectacular!

The reception was at Joondalup Resort and the staff loved the wedding cake I made - saying it was one of the best they have seen! They even want a photo from Frances of the cake so they can display at the resort.... wow

Mango Fruity Dream...

We made Mango Fruity Dream for sweets tonight...

As fresh mangoes are hard to get, I bought canned mangoes then cut them into pieces and froze them on a tray before storing them.

We then whipped up this delicious sweets in just a few minutes in the thermomix.

Gnocchi with Prawns & Burnt Sage Butter

My first attempt at making gnocchi could have been better. I searched many recipes on the web looking for a gnocchi recipe, I downloaded many and then Frances told me that Masterchef Australia had made gnocchi on last Mondays show - so I printed off a copy and thought to give it a go.

Verjuice was so hard to find after searching many shops for it, I finally found it in Coles where the vinegars were. I told next door neighbour Hugh about our chook pen and that we were going to grow herbs, and mentioned how hard it was to find sage at the shops. Next thing I know he brought around a big bucket of oranges and some sage from his herb plant!

Trying to find desiree potatoes was another task and a half - could not find any. So I bought some red potatoes and ruby lou potatoes to try. However trying to mash the potatoes was difficult and didn't mash finely (having a mouli would have been great but didn't want to spend $$$ on getting one when I am probably going to get a Thermomix anyway). The recipe included capers - but I decided to omit these out of the recipe as I am not fond of them.

Anyway, the gnocchi still tasted good and Keenan was so impressed he had 2 helpings!!!! I especially loved the crispy sage on top!
